A lone man dances at sunset on the Mesarski most, one of the city’s many bridges.
Rollerblading through the pedestrians with grace, he was graceful and eccentric. His soundtrack was a street musician – I wondered at the time whether the musician was annoyed by the man stealing attention away, or just glad someone was listening.
This was one of the last photographs I captured on our honeymoon to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Over our long break, we walked miles through the streets and travelled out into the northern mountain regions. I had my camera with me throughout, but it was our honeymoon, so I let many scenes pass me by, enjoying instead the time with my new wife. But I permitted myself to stop for this moment. A beautiful country, and one that I can’t wait to visit again.
