The ascent of Bowfell from the path of Side Pike.
The Langdale Valley is a special place, with blissful meadows sitting at the feet of mountain after mountain. Each mountain is named, and each has its a distinct character. Bowfell slopes its foot into the valley floor, tempting the adventurous to start the climb from Stool End Farm. Steep but steady, the climb begins with grass and path, summit masked by clouds. Somewhere up there sits the great slab and boulder fields and, so I hear, one of the best views in the Lake District.
